bpha’s Risk Management work scoops prestigious Housing Federation award.

bpha’s Quality and Assurance team won their category at the Housing Association National Accountancy (HANA) Awards on Thursday 6 July 2017.

The team was up against Tai Ceredigion, RSM, Broadland Housing Association and Futures Housing Group in the shortlist, before they scooped the prize and took the trophy at the ceremony in London’s Radisson Blu Portman Hotel.

Liz Parsons, Director of Quality and Communications, collected the award, presented to her by comedian Mark Watson. “I can’t believe we won!” said Liz. “Very well deserved by the team, it’s wonderful to get this recognition from the Sector.”

As the award was presented, bpha was recognised as an organisation where risk is “truly embedded” in the culture, and “a key tool to support decision-making.”

The HANA Awards were created by the National Housing Federation and take place annually to celebrate the most pioneering and innovative finance teams and individuals in the social housing sector.

bpha’s Treasury team was also shortlisted in their category – Treasury Team of the Year – large organisation – but they were unfortunately pipped to the post by Places for People.
